East African music icon Jose Chameleone has joined Rwanda and the international community in commemorating the 32nd anniversary of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
The Ugandan artist, who has long been one of the most influential figures in the region’s music industry, shared his message of solidarity on Instagram on Tuesday, April 7, 2026—the day marking the official start of the annual Week of Remembrance.
In his message, Chameleone expressed solidarity with Rwanda, honoring the lives of innocent victims of the genocide against the Tutsi. He also paid tribute to the resilience and strength of survivors who continue to rebuild their lives.
