For the first time, Rwanda will host Gather25, a groundbreaking global church event that will bring together believers from across the world for prayer and worship.
Scheduled for March 1-2 at BK Arena in Kigali, the event aims to unite Christians in a shared moment of prayer, worship, repentance, and commissioning, drawing inspiration from the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19–20). Designed to ignite worldwide evangelistic efforts, Gather25 invites followers of Jesus from all nations, denominations, and generations to participate in this historic movement of Christian unity.
During a press briefing on February 24, Dr. Charles Mugisha, Pastor at New Life Bible Church, emphasized the significance of this global event and the role of technology in making it possible.
“Since it’s impossible to gather everyone physically from all continents, we’ve embraced technology to achieve this milestone,” said Pastor Mugisha.
He also noted that Gather25 marks the beginning of an ongoing movement, hinting at future editions such as Gather27 and Gather30.
Spanning 25 hours, the event will kick off with a church service in Dallas, USA, before continuing in Rwanda, covering all six continents symbolically. Rwanda, at the heart of Africa, was chosen as the central host for this inaugural global gathering.
Mugisha further highlighted that BK Arena will serve as a global broadcasting hub for the event.
“For too long, European and American voices have dominated the Gospel landscape. Now, it’s time for Africa to amplify its message to the world—an incredible opportunity for the Rwandan Church,” he stated.
A Celebration of Worship Across Continents
Christian Life Assembly Pastor Hassan Kibirango shared that BK Arena’s gates will open at 1 p.m. on March 1, with the Gather25 broadcast beginning at 2 p.m., led by worship artists from across the region.
The event will feature performances by renowned gospel musicians, including Tim Godfrey from Nigeria, Uganda’s Watoto Children’s Choir, and Burundian artists Apollinaire, Fabrice & Maya. Rwandan artists Aime Uwimana, Prosper Nkomezi, True Promises, and Cryso Ndasingwa will also take part.
From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., attendees will engage in celebration and worship before the official Gather25 production, which will be broadcast globally through the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), the world’s largest Christian television network.
As the broadcast moves across different time zones, each continent will host its segment, ensuring global participation.
Diverse Languages and a Mission of Compassion
To accommodate the international audience, Gather25 will offer translations in eight major languages, including Portuguese, French, Spanish, Arabic, and English. Advanced AI-powered real-time translations will enhance accessibility for all participants.
Beyond its spiritual mission, Gather25 will also serve a humanitarian purpose. Offerings collected during the event will be used to provide health insurance for those in need.
With all seats at BK Arena already fully booked, this historic event is set to leave a lasting impact on the global Christian community, marking a new era of unity and mission-driven faith.
