Arsenal F.C. have officially been crowned champions of the Premier League for the first time in 22 years after Manchester City F.C. were held to a 1-1 draw by AFC Bournemouth.
Manchester City played their Matchday 37 fixture on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Vitality Stadium in front of more than 11,000 spectators.
The home side took the lead in the 39th minute through Eli Junior Kroupi, putting pressure on Pep Guardiola’s side, who desperately searched for an equalizer throughout the second half. City eventually rescued a point deep into stoppage time when Erling Haaland scored in the fifth minute of added time.
The draw also confirmed Bournemouth’s qualification for European competition, marking a historic achievement for the club, which returns to continental football after 127 years.
Manchester City’s failure to secure all three points leaves them on 78 points, four behind Arsenal with only one game remaining this season, officially handing the title to the North London club.
Arsenal last won the Premier League during the famous 2003/04 “Invincibles” season, when they lifted the trophy without losing a single match. This marks the fourth league title in the club’s history, having also won championships in the 1997/98 and 2001/02 seasons.
The club has maintained a partnership with Rwanda through the “Visit Rwanda” campaign since 2018, although the agreement is expected to conclude at the end of the 2025/26 season.
Arsenal will wrap up their league campaign away to Crystal Palace F.C. on Sunday at 5:00 PM.
The Gunners are also chasing more history in Europe, as they prepare for a crucial UEFA Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain F.C.. Victory in the tournament would see Arsenal win the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.
